Palmetto

The Alchemy Collection is a collaborative series of original artwork produced by Liz Rundorff Smith and Teresa Roche. The patterns in this collection are made from the original artwork the artists create together by layering encaustic wax, pigmented pastel powders, geometric forms, and organic motifs. The encaustic artwork is then transformed into a distinct and sophisticated series of textile patterns.

Inspired by the Carolina shoreline, Palmetto captures the windblown palmetto fronds of Fripp Island as well as the sun-drenched coastal landscape in layered, painterly shades of green and yellow.
